So anyways these armors (and weapons). :> the gold, curves, triangles - they look ancient elvhen. especially check out the feet on mage and warrior Rook (tho rogue Rook has gold-toecapped boots hh), it's like DA:I Temple of Mythal Sentinel-type vibes. also the faces in various places (see: ancient elven sentinel's knees below on the left, Solas' Trespasser armor knees). the small triangles on Taash's chestpiece even look like this style of armor we first saw Solas in in a trailer a few years back.

in some there's also a golden dragon, like warrior Rook's helm and Davrin and Taash's shoulders.

I'm obsessed with the pretty designs on rogue Rook's shins here. also apparently rogues can have headpieces like full-on ninjas now, the mask thing is so cool. :D Warrior Rook's elaborate helmet is also super cool - dragon head, dragon-winged.

for the companion ones, I like how the armors maintain a few unique aspects of companions' 'default' styles. like Bellara still has all her triangular pouches with the hanging odds and ends, Lucanis' daggers, Neve's sleeves etc. it's a nice balance of being able to customize companions' armor in different styles (unlike DA2) while still maintaining their unique identities and preserving some individual elements when doing so (unlike DA:O).

these weapons are so pretty, especially the bow that curls like halla horns. I wonder if the lil blue-tealy kinda bits on these are blue lyrium? the head at the top of the mage weapon on the bottom right is interesting, it looks like an elongated skull, dragon-like maybe. the pointed top reminds me of the point of Mythal's crown or that one other Evanuris head-shape. and in the top left, for the shield, I can't see that horizontal curved shape anymore without thinking about Elgar'nan hhhh.

f///f 7 new trailer related salt i'm so sorry for that but bear with me

also will include spoilers to the 1997 game.

god it sucks, the Re//birth trailer looks so nice graphicwise but i keep thinking back to the plot stuff they showed and. I guess i really can't accept the fact the "remake" is actually a stealth sequel and i really don't vibe with what they're doing with it it's making me so sad.

with the first part i was already on the fence not really liking the idea, the main thing is like. I think we're losing all the subtility of the original in some way which is kinda baffling that 25 years later i find it so. vulgar?

I had this pet peeve already with the way they utilized Sephiroth in the first part, considering he just keeps popping up / have a boss battle despite it being the one part of the OG where Sephiroth /doesn't/ appear and is just mentioned a lot, which is meant to build up to him. And ofc the choice is rooted on how they couldn't leave Sephiroth out of the game while he's soo popular (tho it's also the same reason they showed Zack and i'm still so mad at that), and so they rooted the whole "stealth sequel" around him, with Sephiroth not being the one of the main timeline but of the post-AC timeline. Like. Guh whatever.

But that was the intention they were going with anyway, considering the stealth sequel aspect of it, and all in all, it's in character for Sephiroth to do that. I just hate that they called the game a remake and then put Sequel Sephiroth in it.

But the Re///birth trailer kinda hammered in stuff i was on the fence about and i'm hhhh.

I hate that Tifa says aloud in the trailer, even to Aerith, that she doesn't remember Cloud being there during the Nibelheim Incident.

The subtle build up to her uncertainty in the OG were so good, it gets genuinely so unsettling to see that she /is/ hiding something from Cloud but you don't really get what it is, especially while the game was building up something was wrong with Cloud and we had no clue what it was exactly.

The remake already kinda was already far less subtle about Cloud's deal already and just, downright spoiled it with that ending anyway (i hate it i'm sorry😭 take it from Zack Fangirl #1 i absolutely hate how they showed him in the game)

But god i hate it, i hate how it's just genuinely telling you exactly what's up in some way.

bc the confrontation with Sephiroth in the OG is so fucking good. Sephiroth gaslighting Cloud into telling him he doesn't actually exist, that he's just Sephiroth's clone and it's why Sephiroth can manipulate him so well, that he wasn't there during the Nibelheim incident, and him turning to Tifa for support and you realize that *this* is what Tifa's weird behavior has been building up to: that she can't actually reassure Cloud with remembering the reality Sephiroth is making *both* of them doubt at that moment.

Like in the OG it builds almost like this moment of fooling the player into thinking Sephiroth is right the same way it fools Cloud. What the OG does so well is that it gaslights you the same way it gaslights Cloud. And it does it by removing one of THE Pilar of your certainty. Because you trust that Tifa is the One Person who won't lie to you, who was there from the start, who's always been there for Cloud. And sure you don't get why something is wrong with her most of the game but therefore this moment hits so hard.

Honestly i feel like we're losing the actual impact of the gaslighting plotline anyway completely with how much we already revealed about Cloud's past in the remake (they shouldn't have showed Zack they shouldn't have showed Zack i'm SO mad). And perhaps i'm just mad because one of the big reason i imprinted so much on ff7 when i did, and why it became such a formative part of my life, is how much i identified and related to that specific plotline to start with.

Instead in the trailer they also have Sephiroth tell you Jenova can change appearance and replace people in your life and then he tells Cloud "you saw me kill [Tifa] so how can you believe she's the real her?" and i find it. so fucking vulgar.

Yeah makes sense for AC!Sephiroth to aim specifically in having Cloud doubting the people he loves, since he knows this is Cloud's strength. But, aside from the fact we're changing the dynamic between Cloud and Sephiroth already (by completely losing how slowly Sephiroth saw Cloud as a threat, since now he knows Cloud is HIS nemesis), I just think it fucking sucks and doesn't have the actual punch the original had.

Sephiroth managed to control Cloud body and soul, he almost pushed him to kill the people he loved, he pushed him to trigger the apocalypse, he made him doubt he was an actual person, Sephiroth made Cloud his by wrapping his vision of reality, by abusing of the way Cloud couldn't trust his own memories. Trying to isolate him from his friends by having doubted them just feel like a massive downgrade to me.

Like yeah makes sense that post AC Sephiroth wouldn't use the same manipulation tactics. But that might also be why it shouldn't have been a timeline fuckery to start with.

Also i find the expositionary line extremely clunky, i don't remember the Jenova reveal to have come *this* soon in the timeline but whatever, it's a trailer anyway.

And anyway i've seen people kinda joke about it with like "what if they kill Tifa instead of Aerith this time" and i'm genuinely so jaded it genuinely makes me angry. Aerith's Death had so many layers, in plot and thematic and were so intrically linked to who she is as a person. Tifa dying would just be the shock value people have wrongfully claimed Aerith's death was all along all those years. And if they're genuinely doing that like. making us doubt if Tifa is going to survive to try to have us buy into the (already very cruel imo) "will Aerith survive?", i just find it absolutely lame.

I wanted to like those games. I've been waiting for them since 2015, it was all i ever talked about.

But between the remake bait and switch and the various decisions they're taking, it's just making me sad.

And even just taking the game as a sequel instead of a remake doesn't work on me because i find it rather rude. Like the complains about "why would fans want a fully remade game when they can just replay the original" (because people don't play 1997 games and because it's kinda sad that the rest of the saga has elaborate graphisms and not this one), with having enemies from the remake being "keepers of the canon" and how now it's all about "the future isn't set in stone"

it kinda kills me because i never pinned f//f7 to be a story about fate. f//f15 is, in a way, and would totally earn having a twist on "this is not set in stone, we can change things".

but f///f7 is so much about grief, about nature, about accepting that things went wrong, that horrors happen but you have to carry on, you can't rewrite it. Cloud has tried rewritting his life and it didn't end well, he had to accept what happened to him. And instead we get a game that is all "actually you can rewrite what tragedies are about to happen". it just. sighs.

man i'm sad that i'm this sad about it.

i'll finish playing the remake and sure i'll play re//birth, on every other aspect it seems nice.

But man. this excitement from years ago just turned into pure dread and i'm absolutely not excited about the game, and it really makes me sad.

to answer your question about liebestraum!! it actually shocked me that somebody remembers it/is asking abt it since the teaser didnt get a lot of attention (which was expected, considering the theme of the fic!!). bUT! yes i did delete the teaser as for now and i didnt add it onto my wip post because i am not actively working on it right now for multiple reasons and that is: i didnt like the direction the plot was going in,,, and while i really loved the theme and vibe of what i had written, i didnt really enjoy the plot if that makes sense ?? i also didnt have it well thought-out and there were a lot of plot holes and i didnt really know how to continue the fic or how i really wanted to end it, to be 100% honest. the fic is still in my docs, tho, if i ever want to come back to it,, which i really do, because i love the innitial idea and the whole theme of the fic, but as of now im focusing on my other works that i feel more joy writing 💕 i cant guarantee anything, but maybe i manage to write it one day?? and if that were to happen, id just have to start over tbh 😭 so who knows. im pretty 50/50 on it rn AHAHA but also i wouldnt wait for it in the near future im sorry :((

I was writing a whole thing about how I wished instead of getting a dlc about Jack we saw more of his impact on the world after the events of 2 bc it feels like 2 happened and then... It's a vaccum and everything in 3 would've probably happened regardless. If that makes any sense. We saw more abt his impact on the world in the trailers where he was sculpted on the mountainside. The side quest was more about angel than Jack, and I'm glad, but then we got that dlc that just had Jack slapped on it even tho it wasn't *really* necessary

In bl2 we hear about the quakes happening on Pandora because Jack is mining for Eridium and its literally tearing the planet apart.

Jack's mining operations broke/pierced the eridium crust of Pandora and that was how the Destroyer was slipping out, imo it'd be great near the eridium blight as that's where the big gash is from Bl1

INSTEAD OF THE TWINS BEING TYPHONS KIDS BC it had NO SIGNIFICANCE other than him being a total ASSHOLE about it and them knowing about the OTHER VAULTS we scrap the whole other planets thing bc it made the game feel incredibly shallow and weird so let's stick to Pandora this time??? Maybe we can go to Nekrotefeyo at the end to seal the gaps in the eridium crust because THE WATCHER LEADS US THERE and maybe instead of gremlin DeLeon it's another Siren waiting for us who dies after we help her close the Vault with Maya and Tannis or whatever idk idc anymore siren lore was basically thrown out the window in 3 anyway and Ava gets her powers. Maybe there can be the whole thing where Tyreen teleports in to steal those good good powers since there are 3 sirens in a room together (bc apparently Amara doesn't count in game??) but kills new siren before she can take them and the powers go to Ava. Boom. Now Ava is a Siren and also Maya is alive to train her.

instead of being typhons kids were gonna wipe him from existence and instead the twins as weird siren siblings were called to Pandora as sirens ARE NTOED TO BE and noticed the 'influence' of the Destroyer thru the cracks of the eridium crust. They can keep the whole 'we killed our mom by acvident' backstory so they still have those good good family issues without the gross DeLeon addition. So they're drawn to Pandora

Bc instead of the Eridians making a Vault in BL1 that calls people to it to get eaten, instead the Destroyer influenced people to try and open that Vault through a gap in the weird Vault dimension shit so it could feed since it is endlessly hungry whoa who would've guessed. So the Eridians are less evil and stupid in this version imagine that >:/

The twins Noted how the eridium and the destroyers influence was making ppl crazy on Pandora (literally call it Mayhem to tie into the marketing campaign) and figured they could use this to their advantage

And did what they did and started their internet influencer cult in order to help them discover what sort of power was lying under the surface of Pandora bc obviously it called them there because they were meant for it

So all that Eridium art and stuff is actually them continuing the mining operations from 2, using old DAHL and Hyperion workspaces and their cult as the workers and as a plus the eridium gives them buffs to become more powerful and probably leads to the cut 'good ending' where Tyreen looks fucked up on eridium and Troy got his weird wings and stuff and we also get the Pandora reactor cut stuff with Tannis AND we get an explanation for the Vault of the architects

All the other planet stuff could've been put in dlcs. Genuinely. It had no real bearing on the main story imho. We open Vaults on other planets for what? For the machine? Arbitrarily?? Fuk it it's all dlc now. Keep the game on Pandora and focus on the story. If we do end up on Nekrotefeyo maybe fucking explain why Maliwan is there???? Bc it makes no goddamn sense? Too many characters and plots are added or juggled thru the main story and too many changes in scenery and pace to make it feel like a cohesive story with actual stakes and shit. Everything takes place on Pandora and all the other planets are just DLCs. We get to break up a fight between Maliwan and Atlas over a Vault to help Rhys and Maya and Krieg are there like they were supposed to be. Maya and Ava need help on Athenas with a takeover and we get bonus Athenas content bc it's soooo short and we get more siren lore and hhhh. Eden-6, we get a call from Hammerlock's fiance asking for help to free hammylocks from prison and there's a Vault involved with the escaped prisoners and the Jakobs family with Clay and Aurelia is there but she isn't a villain. All of these lead to their original Vaults or w/e idc I just want a better main story not chopped into pieces how am I supposed to care about the characters if every 2 hours I'm thrown into another completely different handful of characters without the old ones making a reappearance like wtf

Anyway.

IMAGINE A GAME WHERE MAYA DIDN'T HAVE TO DIE LIKE THAT AND WE GET CONTINUITY FROM BL2 AND WE SEE HOW JACK IS STILL FUCKING US OVER EVEN TODAY

My only complaint with AOC is that it looks like they literally reused Paya's model for Impa. And in the recent trailer shes got those obnoxious pinked out cheeks. Its just. Boring. She looks super boring. I miss the other Impas .<. Other than that everything looks fucking awesome

the movie looks like they asked pen kenders for design advice for sonics model

i absolutely fucking hate his anatomy its bad from any possible perspective and tehres no sugartalking it hes a naked little man with a fursuit head. and that head has a human jaw. somehow.

the cgi on sonic is debateable. hope the movie puts him into the environment a little better with bounce light n shit. (he would probably fit the environment more easily if he was a cartoon)

the overall quality of the movie is standard millions of dollar budged movie. its got explosions and action and over the top cgi and unfunny jokes that somehow make u laugh anyways they tried some really cool stuff but they just. couldn’t execute it the way they’d wish they did (or at least i wish they did)

you WILL be entertained when watching this movie because the actors are doing a great job n the overall execution is okay (not Good but like. passable. think frozen)

hhhh how neat would it be if p5r were to be like smtiv apocalypse where ponytail girl is the nanashi to the original protagonist’s flynn and and the story kind of spins off from a canonical plot point and evolves into something completely different?

Honestly thats so much more interesting than the stupid theory people are having about her as a possible femMc.  I personally would really love if Atlus did that again, its part of why i like smtiv so much. I like how Smtiv and Smtiva stand on their own but also together, how they add to each other and interact. I love when Atlus does sequels because they really do make them like, actually important and interact with the previous game too. 

(Like smtiv/smtiva and p2is/p2ep, desu2 septemtrione/desu2 triangulum, etc).  I would be all about that though. 

I do doubt it tho, since she had a voice in the trailer and protagonists dont have those so early in most games. Itd be so cool though, it would be an option to fix a lot of what issues persona 5 has too since they could go in and alter the timeline from another perspective with more characters adding to the plot or w/e

recommendable to my pal-ee-os who wanna watch it and can only watch dubs for reasons I completely understand. your not gonna miss much of anything watching the dub compared to the sub, or the manga, anything missing is just minor unimportant things like some minor replies of dialogue and just minorly different voices but that's bout it.

and i just merely made this because the fandom's going rabid on it. then again, barely anyone from the fandom will notice this post so why bother?
